Dr. Deborah Barry, Personal Development Therapist
Payment
On average, sessions last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours.
Extended sessions provide the
opportunity for rapid progress.
Fees are $100/hour,
based on quarter-hour segments.
For example, the charge for a session
that lasts 1.5 hours is $150.
There is a minimum charge of $120.
The office is accessible by elevator. Unfortunately, the washroom does not accommodate a wheelchair, however.
I charge $120 for an hour, although most of my clients see me for extended sessions. My rate is $100/hr and I will leave a block of time open. Some clients choose to see me for 1 3/4 hours, 2 1/2 hrs, as much as 4 hours at a time. This is a great way to really tackle an issue or pattern. Sometimes it's more meaningful to dig deep right now rather than come for 50 minutes every week for a month.
I often suggest that you come and see me once anyway. My introductory session is $120 for an hour and a half. I provide the complimentary half-hour in order to give us both time to see if we are compatible.
You can call me any time, day or night. My number is 613--858-5888.
Payment can be made in person by cash or cheque
and on the Internet by Interac and PayPal.
Referrals are always appreciated.

FAQs
Q. Will my Benefits plan cover this work?
A. Probably not.
In general, Deborah 's work is not covered by most providers of Insurance Benefits. Providers can choose which professionals they cover and traditionally most cover only the services of a PhD Psychologist. That being said, Deborah sees many clients who have chosen to work effectively with her rather than seek treatment based on funding.
Q. Since Deborah has an MD, is her work covered by OHIP?
A. No.
Deborah no longer practices medicine and does not maintain her license. Working outside the system gives her the flexibility to intertwine personal development, coaching, and therapy. This non-traditional approach is not covered by OHIP.
Q. Will Deborah see people who cannot afford to pay the full rate at this time?
A. Occasionally.
Deborah maintains a few spots in her practice for people who are not able to pay the regular fee. Please speak to her to discuss whether or not she currently has such a vacancy. Certain clients pay on a sliding scale between $90 and $120 for up to 8 sessions.
